Need to be checked: Most minor wound on tongue will go away within a month period. It is hard to tell without seeing it, but judging from its location (being in the center tip), it may be from physical trauma such as accidental biting. Red typically means the area is inflamed, so it is important to see a dentist to find out the cause of this lesion.

Dentist: Have your dentist take a look. Your tongue and the associated tissue underneath it may be getting caught between your two lower front teeth. Can't tell without looking at it.
