Wait at least 8 wks: Returning to activity after umbilical hernia repair, depends on the size of the hernia and how it was repaired, any complicating medical conditions that you have or medications that you take, and your surgeon's preference.  Usually gradual return to regular activity is allowed after 8 weeks, but may be longer if there are any complicating factors.  More rigorous activities are allowed as tolerated.

Go to gym regularly ,  1 mile walk you burn only 100 Cal , You have to burn 3500  Cal to  burn each pound of fat each pound of fat so is not a easy task. Follow the advise of your doctor
