had a hydrocele surgery. 5 days after surgery i masterbated and 1 day later now have pain and swelling at the top of left of scrotom. is this normal?

Get checked : Might have knocked it however 5 days out would be a high risk time to be developing an infection so safest to get it examined by a doctor

Couple of months: Hydrocele is a collection of fluid around the testicle (in tunica vaginalis ) a begin condition, developed after the surgery after  due to oozing of blood resulting a hematoma it will get absorbed in couple of months , will return to normal.

Scar/blood clot: Probably scar tissue related to the suture material, the normal healing process, and/or a blood clot. Probably not dangerous. See your surgeon for an exam to be sure.

Uncertain: Postoperative swelling is expected and initially a hydrocele may still look like it is present immediately after surgery.  You should see steady improvement and decrease in size over next couple of weeks to a month.  Lots of activity or overexertion may slow your recovery.  As always contact your surgeon with any questions or concerns.

: Hydroceles originate in the balloon like coverings of the testis as it travels from near the kidneys during fetal development, down into the scrotal sack. Normally the coverings adhere tightly to the blood vessels that keep the testis alive, and  prevents anything from fluid to a hernia from coming down. If a small opening lets fluid through, it persists and may increase. Surgery may be needed

H'cele yes V'cele no: A hydrocele can  extend up into the groin, but varicoceles almost invariably remain in scrotum. I have seen many hundreds of varicoceles over the years & never seen one extend up into the groin.
