hi, i hd surgery in both my brokn ankles. how long it'll take to come on wheel chair and when i put first step. there are 2 and 1 plates in legs resp.

Broken ankles: It depends how bad the fracture was , what are other disabilities with the fractures , like muscle or tension injuries , if u are a diabetic or not , what is your weight. usually it takes 8 weeks for bones to have reasonable healing and you can start bearing some weight. Also a significant issue will be regular physiotherapy support that you can get in India. In short it is variable.

recovering from ankle fusion surgery but having some stiffness in my leg, is that normal?

Normal swelling: Stiffness and swelling are  2 of the more common complains after ankle fusion. If the swelling is in the calf all the way to the foot, make sure you notify your surgeon. Make sure you are moving the toes and gently stretching your toes as well as icing and elevating the foot.

i had surgery for a broken ankle 3 weeks ago. my dr said not to put pressure on it but i can walk on that leg but it's unstable. is it okay to drive?

Ask your surgeon: Do not attempt without consulting surgeon. Just curious, which ankle is it. If it is your driving foot this will obviously have a significant effect.

i have a pulmonary embolism after foot surgery about five weeks ago - i am on blood thinner tablets but i have a hot spot on my leg (same one i had surgery) its about midway between my ankle and my knee could this be another blood clot - my hips are?

Unlikely a : "deep" blood clot since blood thinners , especially the newer ones, are quite effective in preventing seep vein thrombosis (clots) which then could travel to the lungs. Rather I  suspect acute superficial phlebitis. Inform your treating consultant ASAP  since bacterial issues may be an issue here. In the meantime..APPLY HOT packs and elevate the leg.

Physical Therapy: The surgeon who performed you ankle surgery can refer you for physical therapy.  This will help build up your muscles as well as help with mobility and range of motion of your ankle.

Support stocking: I'd expect the best way to treat this is with a very good support stocking used faithfully.

Redness: Can be an infection. Don't take chances! see your doc.

Swelling : After a major surgery can take months or even up to one year to totally resolve. Consult with your surgeon.

i don't have collapsed arches but my ankles fall inwards will i need surgery to straighten them as i get a lot of pain in the rest of my legs?

There are other ways: If you don't have "collapsed" arches, you need to be evaluated to see what is causing your ankles to fall inwards. There are ankle foot orthotics that can help you with this.  However, without a through evaluation it is hard to determine what is causing the your ankles to go inward. See a podiatrist or an orthopedic doctor for further evaluation.

i had brostrom ankle surgery 3 weeks ago. as long as the effected leg is elevated it's ok. when i stand swelling is bad and toes turn purple. normal?

It depends: Swelling for some time is very normal and common. Persistent swelling or swelling that doesnt respond to elevation should be evaluated as it could be a blood clot (DVT).  An ultrasound would be necessary to rule out a blood clot.
