Yes: The first thing i would look at is your parotid gland. A large hard lump in that area could be malignant. See your doctor asap! good luck.

Swollen lymph gland: This is likely a swollen lymph gland.  It should go away in a week or two.  If it does not, see an physician.

Lump: If the problem has been around for months and is worsening I would be seen. Likely this is a cyst and that should be able to be resolved.

Lymph node vs cyst: Lump under your ear could represent a periauricular node (lymph node around ear) or a simple skin cyst/gland. If you have ear pain, perhaps swimmer's ear and lump is painful, then it most likely represents swollen lymph node. Painful lump w/o ear infection could be due to boil/pimple aka clogged cyst/gland. Regardless, if lump persists, see your Family Doc or ENT for evaluation.

Lymph node or cyst: In this area under the ear and above the jaw bone, the possibilities are 1.) cervical lymph node, 2.) a benign sebaceous cyst, or 3 a benign (hopefully) parotid growth.  See a head and neck surgeon for an appropriate diagnosis.

See your ENT: This may be related or not to a process involving the ear. May also be related to a recent infection .There are other causes of involvement of lymph nodes. This is by far the most likely structure involved.See your doc and have it looked at. This may need bx.

?Tumor?: A hard fixed tumor can be a growth which may be benign or Cancerous. In this location, it can be an enlarged  lymph node or a tumor in the salivary(Parotid) gland. seek examination from a ENT doctor.....to be sure that it is not a cancer needing urgent attention.

i have a painful lump under my ear which i just noticed - may have been there for long time .... it's at the top part of earlobe and it's like a small ball and when i touch it it hurts... i never had piercing. should i be concerned? or leave it be?
