Lump/ sleep/ stress: Have the mass checked by your physician. In the meantime here are good sleep hygiene tips. Retire & rise same time each day. Keep bedroom dark & cool & use only for sex & sleep. Turn off tv. No naps. Exercise regularly but not in late evening. No caffeine for 6 hrs & no alcohol or tobacco w/i 2 hrs of sleep. Keep dinner moderate sized & finish at least 2 to 3 hrs before sleep. Can try warm milk, &gt;.

Needs colonoscopy:   If you’ve had abdominal pain and other signs of IBS for at least 3 months, you may have it. Hx of Bloody diarrhea, weight losss, nocturnal diarrhea needs to  be investigated for malignancy, celiac disease, IBD..
The researchers did find that 2.5 percent of IBS patients older than 35 had a disease called microscopic colitis, which req. different RX.  In your case Colon may be indicated.
