: This depends. If you are sure it is only one, it will eventually pass out of the poop in a week or less. X-rays can document movement/elimination. If you are not absolutely sure it was just one, it may need removal. If there are 2 high strength magnets at different intestine levels they can draw together &amp; kill compressed bowel tissue by compromising blood flow= emergency abdominal surgery.

Highly Unlikely: What you are describing sounds like a mesenteric cyst. Cancers can develop in these cysts, but the odds are probably "one in a million". Unfortunately, there's not much you can do with these other than excision, sometimes requiring removal of the adjacent intestine.  Please see a surgeon with extensive laparoscopic experience--they can help you sort this out and decide if surgery is needed.

Folds of the bowels: Your body has about 20 feet of small intestine (small bowel) and 5 feet of large intestine (large bowel).  The intestines are folded and form loops to fit into the abdomen.  Large bowel loop refers to the folds of the large intestine and small bowel loops refers to the folds of small intestine.  This reference is usually made during xray or CT imaging done.

: It is probably talking about the ascending colon, there is air in the colon like in gas. It does not mean anything specifically just talking about report of the X ray and probably because they did not have more information of why the X ray was done could not give a conclusion. The colon has ascending arm and descending arm. Gas in the colon made by bacteria may cause gas pain.

Unlikely: If you had surgery, which i assume you did, the chances of a recuurent bowel obstruction are low but possible. It is very infrequent that people require multiple surgerires for recurrent bowel obstructions.

37 year old women with three small children, i never had the meningitis vaccine before college (somehow i fell through the loop hole) do i need one?

Accepted Answer

It's your call: You are not in a high-risk group for meningitis. Typically high school and college students are targeted for vaccination because they spend time in close quarters such as dorms, buses, gyms and locker rooms, etc. and when there is an outbreak many people may be affected before infection is detected or controlled. Your risk is not great but if you wish to be cautious, go for it--See your PCP!
