Use pillows: Dear JenniScott,

Comfort is paramount when sleeping.  Sleeping on your side with a pillow between your legs and improve neck pain.  If you have lower back pain, using a pillow behind your knees to slightly elevate it can help back pain.  Avoid sleeping on your stomach as it cause lead to unwanted neck discomfort in the am.  A firmer bed or memory foam mattress may do the trick.  Happy sleeping!

On your side: (the one which is most comfortable...a pillow between your legs may be helpful pull your knees up! (FETAL POSITION) REMEMBER whatever HURTS is probably NOT the correct position

Could be: It depend on the bone and what's wrong with it. I see in your profile you mentionned "broken clavicle". If you have a simple fracture, it may be treated conservatively. If the fracture is comminuted, infected or articular, surgery may be the best way to treat.

Ask neurosurgeon: For such a detailed diagnosis, it's probably best to consult with a neurosurgeon, to specifically answer whether surgery is indicated for your  angioma or not. It may depend on the size, location, and how it's impacting  your health. Often times, they can be congenital, and can grow. So this has to be documented, and imaged. Then, you'll have a good idea what to do.

Yes: If there is damage to recurrent laryngeal nerve during the surgery.It will affect the voice and can cause hoarseness or loss of voice aka aphonia.

Anything possible. : Need a follow up x-ray and compare it to the post op x rays to know for sure. It is possible that a choke hold would do damage. Go get an xray at the surgeon's office.
