Anything possible. : Need a follow up x-ray and compare it to the post op x rays to know for sure. It is possible that a choke hold would do damage. Go get an xray at the surgeon's office.

varies: It depends a little on the nature of the surgery performed and the severity of the injury. All that being said, it is pretty unlikely. In one of the more common spinal surgeries we perform, known as an acdf, the instrumentation used is quite strong and it is extremely unlikely to have a complication postop from an injury.
