MRI side effects: There are side effects to everything.  MRIs expose us to magnetic fields and we do not know a great deal about their impact.  Here's a link

MRI and SideEffects: MRI does not use Ionizing radiation like X-rays and CT scan. There are no known harmful side-effects associated with temporary exposure to the strong magnetic field. But some safety concerns: i.e. pacemakers, implanted device. contrast agents and  medication patches.

is it safe to fly on airplane a few hours after an mri scan with contrast of neck spinal area ? or should i postpone? worried of side effects if any

Yes: Assuming you didn't have any concerning symptoms after the MRI scan, it would be okay to fly on an airplane.

i have secondary parkinsonian symptoms, due to side-effects of 33 years of anti-psychotics. i'm on 5 tabs of carbilev 25/100 per day. movement still extremely poor. mri scan shows no stroke and no full parkinson's disease. just symptoms. advice?

Not certain: I would have to read the whole report to be able to know.  WAs the MRI done because of concern for an acoustic neuroma?  I am not sure what this means so you need to discuss it with the doctor who ordered the scan and what he was looking for to know how to interpret it and what to do about it

Here are a few: Number one and MOST COMMON is NOISE damage (for example if you shoot firearms and do not use Hearing Protection. Unilateral nerve damage can alseo be INFECTIOUS in nature, viral and bacterial EAR infections (=Otitis). A benign tumor (Acoustic Neuroma) can cause hearing loss but the MRI most likely rules out that Diagnosis.

The mri: The MRI will determine how it can be removed and if there is something else causing it. You may need other tests done.

Back pain : If your GI work is negative. Then it could be musculoskeletal pain. I do not think you need further work up.

im 26 and just been diagnosed with osteoarthritis from an mri scan. my question is can mri tell different types of arthritis apart? i've had severe knee pain on right side for over a year with no other symptoms?

: I would think they help along with labs and clinical examination and clinical and family history.  Best place to learn about this is uptodate.com but Yggdrasil is a fee. You can ask your local Dr to give you a free 1 month subscription if they have one.  The more you know the better you can take care of whatever it is.
