MRI and SideEffects: MRI does not use Ionizing radiation like X-rays and CT scan. There are no known harmful side-effects associated with temporary exposure to the strong magnetic field. But some safety concerns: i.e. pacemakers, implanted device. contrast agents and medication patches.

Not much: For an MRI without contrast, there is little known risk or complication, as long as the patient is pre-screened for wires and metal. MRI studies are more hazardous for patients with inside wires such as from a pacemaker, defibrillator, stimulator or other devices. And there is a low but real number of complications from the administration of contrast.The scan may raise body temperature 1-2 degree.
