See a doctor.: Ovarian cysts are common. One single mildly enlarged pelvic lymph node is nonspecific. Your doctor may elect to follow up the cyst to see if they would resolve on their own over 2-3 menstrual cycles. They may come and go. See your doctor for check up of the rest of your body to see if there are other enlarged lymph nodes.

would ct scan show ovarian cyst? my gyno said it should show a large one. she wants to do a u/s so im doing that this week. the biggest cyst i ever had was 4 cm. it was quite painful. that was years ago?

: Ultrasound will diagnose accurately an ovarian cyst .  A "CT" is generally not required for this. Ask your GYN physician about low dose oral bcp's, not simply for contraception, but also to reduce symptoms of pre-menopause and reduce spontaneous cyst formation.

hello! i had a pelvic ultrasound (non transvaginal) and it showed a cyst on my right ovary of 4 cm. are pelvic ultrasounds sufficient enough to show ovarian cysts without transvaginal? i turned the vaginal one. doc wants to monitor cyst?

Yes: Not all ovarian cysts are cancerous. You cyst is quite large &amp; I assume that your gynecologist is following it &amp; has made a judgement to just keep an eye on it if it has not changed.

See gynecologist!: 7 cm cysts are usually benign but may need surgery due to size. Pain can be due to "torsion" or twisting of the blood supply to the ovary, risking the health of that ovary. The pain can be from the size of the ovary or partial rupture. Surgery does not necessarily require removal of the ovary but could be only removal of the cyst.

Probably yes. : 7 cm is pretty large, a cyst this big could certainly cause pain. It could suddenly twist or burst, resulting in emergency surgery. Probably not a cancer. It could likely be removed using a laparoscope, resulting in small incisions. The sooner it is removed the better.   See your doctor don't go to the er.

Probably not: Each month when a woman ovulates, a cyst forms at least 2 cm in diameter.  After ovulation that cyst may increase to 6 or 8 cm and still be normal.  It will usually go away over the next few weeks.

Ovarian cyst: Ovarian cysts of almost 5 cm may be painful, and sexual activity may aggravate this on the side where the cyst is located. Generally these kinds of cysts will rupture spontaneously.  If the pain persists, see your gyn provider.

Yes: removal may be needed if it is getting bigger, causes ongoing severe pain and disturbs your life, please seek help from a gynecologist for specific diagnosis and treatment
