what is an ime and what does this mean for my shoulder repair?

Independent Exam: IME stands for "Independent Medical Examination". Many insurance Co., especially Workmen's Compensation, ask an independent expert Doctor for an opinion if there is an injury, and what treatment is needed. Sometimes is used as a second opinion, or even to see if they are responsable for treating the injury.  Ask your IME Doctor what is the purpose of the Exam, even before starting the exam.

if shoulder tendons have been badly worn but not torn, do they repair over time and if so how long roughly can this take ?

Tendons: Generally do not repair over time, but muscles can.  If you can strengthen your muscles with physical therapy and exercise program, it might take over some of the shortcomings of your tendons.  See orthopedic surgeon for further advice.

what to do if your shoulder pops then feels out of place and hurts for 2 days? i have had labarum repair and decom. and rotator cuff debrid.

See your surgeon: It would be best to be evaluated by your surgeon to assure nothing is compromised with your repair.

Maybe didn't heal: A second look arthroscopy as you describe will look for healing or missed problems.  If the labrum is healed, and the anchors are intact, then the freezing and catching is likely due to scar tissue.  If the repair did not take or and anchor is loose, then the repair will likely be revised.

my shoulder is popping and grinding with pain. it pops and grinds while rotating it. what could be the cause of this? do i need surgery to repair?

Need a careful histo: ry and physical exam and then some imaging tests and maybe some lab tests to establish a sound diagnosis.  With that in hand, a rehabilitative program can be devised for you which MIGHT involve physical Therapy and might involve surgery.  In general, the most conservative approach (non-surgical), though longer, works best in the long term.

i have been struggling for well over a yr  since open shoulder repairs, with now chronic pain and fatique, odd m.s.-like symptoms. can surg do this?

Not Likely: The symptoms sound serious enough that you should get a thorough evaluation. The symptoms don't sound like a post surgical syndrome, but possibly you contracted a chronic slow growing infection while in hospital. Mycoplasma is one candidate, and resistant strains have been found increasingly in hospitals. Get checked out.

Significant procedur: Both procedures are significant operations
which require extensive rehabilitation
if you have these procedures performed
you will likely require about six months of
rehab to be close to normal.

Easy out: it is very unlikely that a single shoulder involvement alone is related to RA.

had noninvasive procedure done to repair a labrum and 80% full thickness tear in my right shoulder 6 months ago i completed pt but i'm still limited?

PT again.: Assuming there’s no new pathology in that shoulder since the surgery, such as post-traumatic arthritis or adhesive capsulitis, it wouldn’t to double-down on physical therapy.  Sometimes you just need more physical therapy to reap continued benefit.

slap tear repair was doing  good til week 6 taking shirt off felt like something got caught up in shoulder with a poping sound, pain 24-7 now. retear?

Accepted Answer

Possibly: 6 weeks is still early for slap repairs to be healed so if you moved out of a safe range of motion it is possible to re-tear. No way of knowing for sure without a repeat MRI preferably MRI arthrogram.
