Eye symptoms: Your symptoms, especially the shadow over part of vision, indicate the need for you to see an opthalmologist ASAP.  You MAY have a retinal tear.  Peace and good health.

See neurologist: Your unpleasant symptoms have a wide number of possible causes. The best way to deal with this is to see a neurologist and XRays or other imaging studies may be necessary.

i just had cataract surgery (toric) (6 days ago) in my left eye and when i look to the right i see a shadow in the outer part of my eye and my vision seems to be blocked on the outer edge.  is this normal?

Accepted Answer

Yes: This negative dysphotopsia is well known and occurs sometimes after perfectly done surgery. It generally goes away over about 3 months.  If not, discuss with your surgeon who can explain the alternatives.

Accepted Answer

Floaters?: Sounds like your describing a floater.  Could be a problem.  I'd see your ophthalmologist for a dilated exam to rule out retinal tears or detachments.

i keep on seeing shadows on top of distant object.. what vision problem is this?

Accepted Answer

Depends: Seeing a constant shadow around objects may just be an out of focus eye needing a refraction (glasses) or something more serious affecting the cornea, lens, retina or other.  An eye exam will help sort out.

what would cause seeing prisms in eyesight with no headache?  it's blocking part of my vision. is it worrisome?

Please see a doctor.: Your symptoms can be from what we call floaters in the fluid behind the lens or it can also be from a detached retina, which is a serious condition needing  immediate attention. Please see an ophthalmologist or go to E.R. or urgent care for evaluation right away.

there's a part of my vision that slightly bends light. i can see perfectly through it and not notice anything unusual. its when i turn my head side to side, i notice that a certain part of my vision is causing objects to bend a little. keratoconus?

: Could be and easy to diagnose. Have someone who knows how measure your corneal shape and depth  and  you will know.

i was tired reading my phone. suddenly, i noticed the text had a small "shadow" of the text underneath it down and to the right. no double vision looking at objects in room. just text on contrasted backgrounds. went away in ~5 min. no other symptoms.

Not to worry: You are probably spending too much time reading your phone. Give yourself short breaks in between and look at things far away.
Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

which part of the eye is damaged when you have tunnel vision?

Accepted Answer

This is from retina: Advanced retinal degenerative disease like retinitis pigmentosa creates the disabling tunneling of vision.  Advanced glaucoma and diabetic change can also do this.  Certain types of optic nerve trauma and disease can also lead to tunneling.

what can cause your eyeballs to pulsate to heartbeat? i could visually see them pulsate and there was a black shadow around my vision with each beat.

Accepted Answer

Blood pressure: Elevated blood pressure and rare vascular abnormalities can cause this.  I have also seen it in "normal patients".
