Cont to see GI reg: At the present time the medical literature does not have any statistics that would define your chance of getting colon cancer after finding the serrated adenoma in the asc colon.

You are at increased risk, but-Sorry I cannot give you a %  risk, but this does not appear in the literature.

Your GI DR will be watching this very closely and I would suggest you continue with vigilant checkups.

SSA: Sessile serrated polyps or adenomas are associated with a higher rate of malignant transformation in comparison to other  sessile or adenomatous polyps. Familial risk factors such as hereditary nonpolyposis colorectal cancer (hnpcc) or lynch syndrome as well as denovo genetic mutation may explain why ssa was detected in a young person. Gastroenterologist should be consulted.

Not anymore: Polyps are benign if removed early like you have done. Only if you neglect them and let them grow, they can change into cancer. You should be fine, but your doctor would likely advise you to have repeat colonoscopy every 5 years or at least every 10 years because there is small risk of developing new polyps . But there is no reason to worry about cancer as long as you are having colonoscopy as advi.

Colon polyp: Ask your gasteroenterologist, who scoped you.  He/she should provide you the answer for repeat colonoscopy, but it is probably no more than 3 years since the last one.

i had two precancerous sessile serrated adenomas found on colonoscopy. doctor says it's most likely genetic. only 27. is there anything i can do to prevent these. am i more likely to get cancer in the future?

Serrated adenoma: Routine screening , w/ colonoscopy every  1-2  years will pick up early lesions.Healthy diet with  fruits and vegetables and  fiber is also beneficial ,. There is  data that suggests aspirin  or  celebrex and sulindac  can decreased risk of  adenoma, but  some GI bleeding risks( moreso if  older) -discuss

In 5 years: Since it was less than 1cm and serrated, your next colonoscopy should be in 5 years.

Recommend consulting the doctor who took the specimen or a gastroenterologist licensed in your area for specific advice.  Due to risks of other complications from coeliac disease recommend try to stick to diet.

Potentially: High fiber diet has been linked to lower rates of colon cancers based on epidemiologic studies. Even if it doesn't decrease your cancer risk, having soft bowel movements also reduces your risk for developing hemorrhoids.

it has been 6.5 years since my last tetanus shot and i just cut myslef with the serrated edge of some cling wrap - it isn't very deep, but it bled. am i at risk?

TdaP: You are okay with a "clean" (non-rusty, indoor cut) on tetanus shot for 10 years, but if you are around any babies you may want to update you tetanus to include pertussis, or whooping cough, with tdap now available for teens and adults so not to catch or transmit whooping cough to others.
