TdaP: You are okay with a "clean" (non-rusty, indoor cut) on tetanus shot for 10 years, but if you are around any babies you may want to update you tetanus to include pertussis, or whooping cough, with tdap now available for teens and adults so not to catch or transmit whooping cough to others.

Probably not, but...: Usually, if it is a contaminated (dirty) wound and it has been over 5 years since your last tetanus booster, you would need another booster. It doesn't sound like it is a dirty or very deep, so you probably don't need one. But, you're getting close to needing a booster, if you are at all concerned, it wouldn't hurt to get one.

Tetanus lasts 10 yrs: Your tetanus shot should last 10 years- so don't need a booster for 3.5 more years. Ample bleeding is good for cleansing the wound, but make sure to clean and bandage, unless it needs a stitch.
