: Watch for increased redness,swelling and discharge from the area. Keep the skin clean and dry. Avoid creamwith fragrance and harsh soap. The resolving area which is smaller indicates a response to treatment and healing, but please follow up with your physician.

Possible infection: Burns of second degree or greater are always at high risk for infections. Since infections need to be confirmed and treated by a physician, best to see your doctor.

i am 41 years old.  i received a very small wound in early-aug on my ankle, it quickly scabbed over to begin healing.  by mid-aug it was a bit red, i applied triple antibiotic.  redness cleared by end of month.  the scab is still there.  concerned?

Somewhat: One should expect complete  healing in 6 weeks. If the scab is still present, I recommend that you stop putting anything on it for a couple of weeks. If the scab is persistent, it may mean that there may be some complication preventing complete  healing.

Burn: You have serous fluid leaking from what may be a blister from the burn Keep the wound clean and covered you can apply silvadene (silver sulfadiazine) cream. You can combine it with an antibiotic ointment to avoid infection

Complicated process: Multiple factors involved. White blood cells and platelets travel to the site for immune system and blood clotting. Collagen fibers heal across, and new blood vessels grow in. Collagen fibers remodel. Proper body protein level and appropriate vitamin levels help with healing. Poor nutrition, diabetes, cigarette smoking, infection, poor blood supply, Prednisone can delay or prevent proper healing.

Straight answer: Although I am against the use of "weed" in general, no, weed will not effect wound healing in the short span.

&gt;10 years of smoking, in general, will mildly effect wound healing--- but more of a deal if your obese, or have diabetes

Wound healing: Granulation tissue occurs in all wounds. In primary wound healing it is not exposed to the outside as it in secondary wound healing.

Signal and control: Cytokines are secreted by cells as a from of cell-cell communication in order to control and coordinate celleluar response to injury. Integrins are proteins found in the extracellular matrix that are also signals that help coordinate and direct cell attatchment and behavior. All of these chemicals are involved in initiating annd directing proper wound healing.
