i had left foot surgery 8 months ago(navicular area). my foot has been hurting a lot also causing ankle pain. can the mitek bone anchor be removed?

Probably not: The simple answer is yes, a bone anchor can be removed, but the real answer is that the bone anchor was placed there for a reason (probably to hold a ligament or tendon in place), so unless the injured structure has healed, you wouldn't want to remove the anchor.  Infection must always be considered as a possible cause of pain long after surgery, or failure of the repair - do go see your surgeon.

as an experienced foot and ankle surgeon I am interpreting your question to be about some type of reconstruction.

I will say that in general these procedures are successful....But... As i tell all my patients "the recovery is long!"

foot surgery takes up to a year or more to fully recover from. If someone is telling you its no big deal get another opinio.

Reconstruction: It will be major reconstructive surgery with very few surgeons who are capable and agree to do that for normal feet. Consult orthopedic surgeon, who will probably explain to you not to look for such type of correction.

Driving: If you are having sedation for the procedure driving is not recommended until next morning. From the surgical view point most likely next day, but your surgeon is the best guide.

Healing phase: The swelling will take several months to resolve and the bump is from bone remolding and it should time to improve.  It may need to be evaluated if this is ongoing.

Yes... Possible: It can be a variety of different possible conditions. Have it evaluated by your pmd and get the appropriate referrals. I can be a variety of different possible conditions.

Skin temperature: When surgery is performed on an extremity, the healing process can take up to a year.  During this time there is an increase in circulation of the area.  This can cause a red-pink discoloration and can also appear bluish when bathing.  Crps typically has discoloration.  The one distinct factor in crps is temperature.  The involved area is characteristically cool/cold.  Temperature will tell.

Ask your doc: Surgeon knows best as to when u  can walk on your reconstructed foot depending on the type of repair and fusion done.

IN general it is 6-10 weeks before you can walk on  the foot and usually start off in a short leg boot  with crutches and progressive weight bearing. Guided by the X-rays that are used to determine when the bones are fused

Lasers and Surgery: Lasers in foot surgery really only cut the skin, several years ago this was a fad or "new technology" which sounded really cool. That said if you mean laser treatments for soft tissue conditions such as tendonitis then you should not feel anything and should .Experience decreased pain and swelling.

does the cotton procedure foot surgery help gait?

Improves gait: The cotton procedure helps in the treatment of pes planus (flat feet).  It is usually performed in conjunction with other procedures. Your gait should improve following surgery.  Your foot will not pronate as much and therefore your gait will be more balanced.
