Does the cotton procedure foot surgery help gait?

Improves gait: The cotton procedure helps in the treatment of pes planus (flat feet). It is usually performed in conjunction with other procedures. Your gait should improve following surgery. Your foot will not pronate as much and therefore your gait will be more balanced.

Cotton procedure: The cotton p/c typically involves a wedge osteotomy of the 1st cuneiform in the medial column to correct flat foot deformity. The p/c is indicated in post tibialis tendon dysfunction (a condition aka acquired adult flat foot) and is often done with other p/cs such as a calcaneal slide osteotomy and an evans p/c in the lateral calcaneus, w/c in such case, would help relieve pain and improve gait.
