Whether this can be managed via splinting and allowing it to heal, or if it would benefit from an operation is something a hand surgeon could advise you -- after a more thorough history and physical examination.

Spine pain /abn MRI: Clonazepam is a benzodiazepine  - which can relax muscles., For severe pain/spasm  Valium/ diazepam is sometimes given . But  more information is needed like the degree of bulge/location..  Would also consider EMG/NCS that can tell if and how severe  nerve function is affected which would correlate with  "numbness" . Discuss PT(physical  therapy) / traction. F/u/w/ neurology

Unlikely: Most commonly, focal hand numbness is due to carpal tunnel syndrome, or even ulnar nerve cubital tunnel issues.  Isolated hand numbness would be a rather unusual sign of stroke.

Brachial plexus ? : Recent symptoms facial/hand parasthesias &amp; shoulder ("collar bone ribs") pain is compatible with brachial plexus impingement &amp; Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. Cervical spinal stenosis &amp; central brain lesion (stroke) would generally include other dramatic symptoms not mentioned. An expedited evaluation by a Neurologist is in order to properly diagnose; urgently if trauma was involved.

Nerve compression: This sounds like a positional problem causing compression of a nerve root or blood vessel, often from a bone in the neck or muscle tissue. This would be best evaluated in person, but in the meantime try to sleep on your back or the other size- if that's not possible, a change in pillow may help.

?spinal cord: Multiple sclerosis can involve both brain and spinal cord, and you could have involvement of the latter, even with normal spinal fluid at this point.  Other considerations should be included, as you need to get this pinned down. Suggest, an EMG to evaluate peripheral nerves, series of blood studies to assess other diagnoses, and a cervical MRI to more fully evaluate ms.

Many things: Many things can cause it.  Capital tunnel,  shoulder,  neck,  brain.... Problems in any of these areas can cause hand numbness.  Shoulder nerve probs usually have pain,  too.

Anatomy: In distribution of left ulnar nerve, raising question of compression at elbow, or wrist.  Alternatively, this could be a digital nerve.
You could choose to have this looked at, as electrodiagnostic testing could reveal answer.
