Possible disc: Pain in the lower back with straining at the stool may indicate a lumbar disc herniation.  Some muscular conditions may also mimic this, however you should seek consultation with physical medicine and rehabilitation  specialist to make an accurate diagnosis.  Once an accurate diagnosis is made then appropriate treatment can be recommended.

Tnr: Pain in the back is from si joint irritation, you favoring an affected side and shift weight while walking on the other side, if you won't resolve the knee issue pain in the back will stay, see a pain specialist in your area, ask to check your hamstring muscle.

: Regular aerobic exercise is recommended. Any exercise, walking, jogging, cycling, treadmill, elliptical etc will do. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week at an intensity that induces perspiration. It may take 3 months or so to see the full effect.

: If this is going on for 10-14 days or more, and is painful enough to cause significant distress, please see your primary care doctor for an evaluation.  S/he will want to know if you have had any swelling, fever, weight loss, or limitation in your usual activities.   The more specific detail you can provide will help with diagnosis

Left hip pain: May be scaitica. Sitting  is  stress on  spine. Consider ergonomic chair with lumbar support. At work change position ( i.e. get up for a moment every 45 minutes to  an hour) to shake out, Consider a trial of NSAIDS ( motrin/alelve ) and muscle relaxant( if not allergic). Rarely may also be related to ovaries/ colon, retroperitoneal issue so may consider ultrasound or CT abdomen. f/u w/ doc

Imaging: There are many reasons for this, i'd start with imaging. True hip joint pain usually refers to the groin. There are many locations that patients consider "hip" pain, but the origin is somewhere else that would make us think another source might be causing your pain.

See an orthopedist: As the pain is localized you should see an orthopedist to evaluate this pain. It may be from the hip, the spine or other areas. Best to see your physician and evaluate where the pain is coming from

Degenerative disease: The "holes" your doc referred to are probably the foramen, or spaces that the nerves travel through to get out of the spine on the way to muscles, skin, etc. Closing of the holes is "stenosis, " or pinching of the nerves leading to leg pain, tingling, abnormal sensations, etc. Stenosis is often related to degenerative disease (arthritis) which can also cause pain in the back of the hip or thigh.
