Several common items: The common items that hurt on the side of the hip where you can feel the bone under the skin can be trochanteric bursitis, tendinitis, sometimes sciatica, bruises, illiotibial band syndrome. If its in the groin, then arthritis is the common condition along with several tendinitis possibilities. Since there are probably hundreds of potential problems that could also be here, see your doc first.
