Regular aerobic exercise is recommended. Any exercise, walking, jogging, cycling, treadmill, elliptical etc will do. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week at an intensity that induces perspiration. It may take 3 months or so to see the full effect. Wish you good health!

Your description of your problem is not very helpful. You can have an overuse injury or you could actually have pathology to joint itself. You can have a limb length difference one leg being longer than the other or a pelvic rotation.I would follow up with an orthopedic surgeon to determine the cause and extent of your problem
