Orthodontic: It is hard to say without a exam.  Many times the patient only see's 1 cm, but other areas need to be adressed.  Generally i would presume about 1 1/2 years estimated, maybe sooner.Contact a orthodontist for a consult.

Overbite is how much the upper front teeth overlap the lower front teeth.

Extraction Cons: If you extract 4 teeth to fix an excess overjet then you have to close all the space. If the front teeth come back too far then the face can look caved in. So you have to be sure that the front teeth don't go back too much. Also, the spaces that are closed after removing teeth will have a tendency to reopen so wearing a well fitted retainer will be important.
