Hydrocortisone: Try hydrocortisone cream for a few days. If not helpful, consider consulting a dermatologist.  In the meanwhile. search for potential contact allergens (vaginal preparations, laundry detergent, latex etc)

Vaginal itch: Bactroban (mupirocin) is an antibacterial ointment. it is not likely to help with vaginal itching. Yeast infections are the most common causes and over the counter yeast creams are readily available at any pharmacy. If that does not work you will need an exam to determine the cause and treatment

Bactroban (mupirocin): mupirocin is bactroban and if the itch is due to a bacterial skin infection then sure.  mupirocin is an antibiotic.  If your itch is due to a yeast infection, you need an antifungal like Monistat or if its a skin reaction you may need some cortisone cream/ointment.

Accepted Answer

Yes: Although the bite reaction will get better on its own, it is very reasonable to treat it with an anti-inflammatory cream like 1% hydrocortisone or a stronger cortisone cream if one is available for you, or a calamine/pramoxine cream (Aveeno) until the bite no longer itches, or if  naturally oriented, an oil of clove stick applied every few hours works as well.

can i use flucinonide ointment .05% for a yeast infection u til i can get to the dr tomorrow? if so, how do i use it. it itches so bad/ any other home

Accepted Answer

Yeast infxn: Many formerly prescription anti-yeast medications are now available over-the-counter w/o prescription. I believe you're referring to fluocinonide (http://www.drugs.com/mtm/fluocinonide-topical.html) which is a potent steroid. While it's useful to stop skin from itching, I wouldn't recommend for a yeast infxn. Instead, you can try OTC stuff prior to seeing your doc who can confirm it's yeast.

i was diagnozed with epidermo dermitis localista- i have inflammation rash that itches .prescribed betametazon ointment. will it go away if i apply it?

Yes it should: although you already tried travocort cream the Betamethasone has a good chance at helping.  I would take cool showers and use glycerin soaps instead of real soap.  When you get out of the shower you should apply a good moisturizer to your wet skin prior to toweling dry..then towel dry.  then apply the Betamethasone 2-3 times per day for a week or less.  Antihistamine is a must if itching at night.

itchy eyes for the past few months. went to optom and they prescribed fucithalmic ointment. did help a bit, but after using for a month still itches?

Allergic?: May be allergic conjunctivitis which is related to hayfever and may respond better to topical or oral antihistamines, or topical cromoglycate or in extreme cases require topical steroid drops and may explain why didn't quite improve with the fucithalmic antibiotic.  Worth getting a doctor examination to confirm this diagnosis exclude alternative possibilities  and work out best treatment.

i have a small puffy white bubble-like spot on my anus - itches, and when ointment is applied feels like a cut. what could this be (not a hemorrhoid)?

Wart: If you take the common hemorrhoid off the list, Genital warts could present like that as well as herpes. Best to have it seen by a physician In person to get a solid diagnosis and plan.

my 3 year old has small white pimples with rashes on her body it flares and itches, tried allergex syrup and ointment and cortisone oitment, it's not working, she has it for two weeks now, please advise?

See a dr: A papular rash can be caused by many things. Most of them are infective. Since she has had it for 2 weeks, and it is not going away,  I would suggest seeing a dr. At the Dr visit, they can examine the pustules and their locations, can determine what the most probable cause is and can suggest a course of treatment. They may/may not do lab work and/or culture the papules.
