Corynabcterium: It means that if the corynebacterium that is found in the wound culture is causing the wound infection together with MRSA and if it is sensitive to clindamycin, Clindamycin would interfere with the growth of this bacteria in the wound; corynebacteria can cause skin infection, aslo can cause dipthteria ( throat infection caused by corynebacterium diphtheriae) etc...

: Proteus mirabilis is usually sensitive to most common antibiotics used for gram negative bacteria, such as quinolone or cephalosporine second or third generation, etc. and IV meropenem may be not necessary. LongDieTheQueen!!: Elizabeth was a queen,not a king! And the bacteria of her namesake(not really)is found just about everywhere.It depends in the amount in your wound and can cause a wound infection. Now, pseudomonas is a well known nasty little bugger that infects wounds.In general,there are single antibiotics that could treat both,but treatment should be verified with tests of the bacterial susceptibility to them.

Bite would culture: If the wound healts quickly it is not an issue - bt if it is weeping or wet or infected or inflamed it needs to be cultured if it is not responding to the antibiotic to see what is growing and why it is not responding to the treatment as given.

A lab test.: A wound culture is a lab test in which material from the wound is submitted to the microbiology laboratory to rule out the presence of bacterial organisms indicative of a wound infection. If any bacteria grow, they are identified and are tested to determine which antibiotics they are sensitive to. If no bacteria grow, the wound is considered to be uninfected.

Yes: They should be under contact isolation as they may also be infected with salmonella in the stool.  Once the infection has been treated and when the wound culture and 2 separate stool cultures are negative for salmonella they could be taken off of isolation.

Pneumococcus: There is a bacteria called streptococcus pneumoniae.  That may be what was isolated from the wound culture, although that would be somewhat unusual.  What the culture growth was describing was not a disease process but the name of the organism.

Only the organisms: which grew in the culture media over the next few days. Does this mean these organisms were dominant within the wound? No. Just ones which grew in culture &amp; MIGHT be playing a roll in slowing healing/increasing the wound vs. just present. Wound cultures are rarely not + for bacteria, yet rarely definitive; just offer some clues to possibly improve educated guesses as to best treatment options.
