Brighter signal: On MRIs, we are often looking at the signal (brightness/darkness) of various tissues. Enhancement would suggest increased signal, but this is a nonspecific finding. Depending on the tissue, it can mean swelling, inflammation, injury, etc. However, it's best to check with the ordering physician to get more information on this study.

Need iimages: Very difficult to interpret the meaning of that report without seeing the images, and without knowing why the study was obtained. Depending on severity, could be artifact (not significant). Transverse myelitis (inflammation of the cord) can also have such findings, but that would correlate with serious neurologic symptoms. Other conditions of the spinal cord also could cause such MRI findings.

from my recent abdominal mri report for liver mass. what does this mean? along the inferior margin of segment 3, there is a mildly t2 hyperintense and hypoenhancing focus measuring up to 1.2 cm; mild rim enhancement is noted in the delayed phase?

: It isn't possible to accurately interpret this without clinical correlation -- symptoms, the nature of the liver mass, and so on. Imaging or pathology reports are written for the requesting physician and other radiologists, not the patient. It's best for patients to go to the bottom of the report:  look for "Interpretation", "Conclusion" or similar terminology. And always discuss w/ the doctor.

i recently had and mri please tell me if this means i have cancer if the urethra. circumferential mild thickening and enhancement of the urethra?

: In order to correlate the MRI finding and possible diagnosis, medical history is necessary. Furthermore, cancer is diagnosed by pathology report via biopsy, not MRI findings. Inflammation of the urethra can result in that MRI finding. Take care.

: No way here to review films, but would suspect that possible meningiomas are present.  Best to have follow-up with a neurologist or neurosurgeon and compare directly the 2021 images with the current films.

Contrast enhancement: The findings indicate that the contrast you were injected with leaked out, and may represent a reaction of the dura (lining of the brain) to the meningioma. Pituitary MRI: this is a radiological description of a normal pituitary gland. Homogenous simply means that there are no focal enhancing lesions that would suggest tumor. The pit. gland is highly vascular and readily enhances or "lights up" with IV contrast

Prolactin: You may need to see an Endocrinologist to interpret this. How high is the prolactin? Mild elevations can be from some medications.  Is this prolactin causing you any  problems? You may have a tiny benign pituitary tumor that is making prolactin. It can be effectively treated with medications, and almost never requires surgery.
