Having said that, the colony count, the dominant organism and multiple organism all suggest that this is not real urinary infection. The organisms are likely to be skin contaminants.

Bacillus, clostridium, corynebacterium, ; listeria are the groups of bacteria classified this way. Gram + rods are not common causes of uncomplicated urinary tract infections. Usual standards for deciding a urinary tract infection present are: (1) symptoms c/w with UTI infection &amp; (2) over 50,000 CFU/ml, rarely lower concentrations. Less than 1,000 CFU/mL considered usual due to bacteria on skin &amp; in urethra. 1,000 to 100,000 CFU/mL may not reflect a UTI. Over 100,000 CFU/mL after good clean catch technique, UTI is likely. Gram + = H&amp;E stain color.

You need to learn how to collect a clean midstream specimen for urine culture.
