A member asked:

Urine culture results 50,000-100,000 cfu/ml staphylococcus coagulase negative not s.saprophyticus 10,000-50,000 cfu/ml multiple organisms meaning?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

See below: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, the colony count, the dominant organism and multiple organism all suggest that this is not real urinary infection. The organisms are likely to be skin contaminants.
