Laparoscopy : Find a gyn surgeon with expertise in laparoscopic myomectomy. That is what you need. Another option is MRI guided high frequency ultrasound. I don't recommend it.

on depo-provera for 4.5 years, still no period and it has been 2 years.  just had an ultrasound and they discovered abnormal amount of fluid in uterus. also, discovered that my cervix is closed over due to scar tissue from a surgery (leep) 2 years ago. th

See your doctor: You should discuss these findings with your doctor.  You could reopen the cervix to drain the fluid, but, given the paucity of symptoms, that may not be necessary.

Adhesions: Any time you have abdominal surgery you risk forming adhesions, which are really just a kind of abdominal scar tissue.  If you form adhesions that obstruct your bowel, etc. You may need another surgery to take down the adhesions.  It is a common complication, but having to have another operation is not.

i'm 67 yrs.old i had an endometrial biopsy today. i have 10mm thickening they used a camera to view uterus and found scar tissue causing a blockage to fundus of uterus. no surgeries, what could be causing the scar tissue?

: The findings may be related to past history of pregnancy and vaginal delivery. If the "blockage" is incomplete, the endometrial biopsy may still be done, and the "scar tissue" itself is not a cause for concern.

i'm 68 yrs. old. have severe uterus scarring ,totally blocked above cervix. had biopsy and d&c which couldn't get through. waiting for mri. can constipation be caused by this scarring? no surgeries or c-sections in past?

: It is not the scarred uterus which can cause constipation but if there is a uterine lesion which blocks the cervical entry and the lesion is big enough to compress the rectum then constipation may occur. However, if the uterine lesion is only blocking the cervix then it has nothing to do with the constipation. Please patiently wait for the MRI done and you will know. Good luck.

Discuss options: I believe that you should find a surgeon who is board certified in plastic surgery to discuss your concerns.  There are options for scar revision, skin grafting, laser resurfacing or other procedures that may be able to help repair the scarred skin.

No: Scar tissue appears on a microscopic level within days after surgery, and it usually subsides as much as it ever will after about two years. However, some people develop hypertrophic or keloid scars, and these require additional treatment to improve their appearance.

will the scars from the omphalocele surgery ever heal?

Accepted Answer

Will get lighter: Scars are often most visible immediately after the surgery.  They then go through a long process of healing and becoming less visible.  Over time the scar will become less raised, less red and will begin to blend in more with the surrounding skin.  Even keloid (the red raised scars) will begin to fade over time.  Be sure to keep them out of the sun and put sunscreen all over the area when outside.

what kind of ointment is good to apply to a scar after surgery?

Mederma : Depends on if you want the scar to lightened up then you can use  hydra condone 
if it is itching Hydrocortisone 
there also is silicone scar treatment now that some of my patients have had a good result. Ultrasound to loosen scar tissue up.

Little if any: Most "tmj" surgeries are performed via an "inverted gull wing" style incision utilizing a small crease in front of the ear.  This incision is the same one used for face lift procedures, so it is very cosmetic in nature.
