Migraines: Try to  learn more about what triggers your migraines.  Suggest you get book by carolyn bernstein called the migraine brain: breakthrough guides to fewer headaches and good health.  Available at amazon.Com and other outlets.  Under $10. Read this carefully, over and over as it can be of great help.

would change in diet/exercise affect possible blood tests at my endo appt? should i wait until after the appt to stray from my usual patterns?

Accepted Answer

Depends how far: I assume you're referring to an endocrine appointment.  Yes, some tests can be altered by diet and exercise.  However, since a good diet and exercise are so important, it'll be hard to justify waiting more than a day or so before starting your new regimen.  Check with your doctor to make sure they won't be testing again to see how you've responded to the exercise regimen, otherwise, I start today.

Atypical Migraines: Atypical migraines lack features of classic migraines including aura, prodrome, maternal lineage history of migraines and clear triggers but still present with hemicranial  headaches of long duration with nausea, sensitivity to light and sound. Try melatonin to promote sleep and reduce anxiety, stay hydrated, meditate to reduce stress impacts, avoid computer blue light exposure and keep a diary!

my almost 5 year old daughters sleep pattern is completely out. her day and night is mixed up and we have tried everything to correct it from routine, diet etc, nothing is helping. is there anything we could give her for a night or two to reset?

Warm milk: A bedtime routine may include a warm bath, bedtime story, sleeping at the same time each night and waking at the same time in the morning. Warm milk prior to bath time may also be helpful. The scent of lavender has been studied and found to help sleep pattern. See your pediatrician for an examination, avoid stress and illness.

could a change in bm pattern from 1x/day to 5-6x/day be caused by a new high-fiber diet (lots of fresh vegetables and fruit)/or sth bad's happening?

YES: Try going back to a NORMAL diet....MODERATION in EVERYTHING is my "rule"!!! Anything in excess can produce changes!!

: How much do you weigh? If your BMI is more than 25, you need to reduce your weight through exercise and diet.
For healthy diet: http://www.choosemyplate.gov/., exercise 30 minutes/day, drink enough water daily so your urine is mostly colorless, have safe sex, no tobacco alcohol weed or street drugs. 
Get HPV, Flu and Covid vaccines. Wish you good health!

Female hair loss: Female baldness is present in 30% of females and  is occurring earlier in Western culture. Stress, crash diet, birth control pills,sleep cycle, ovarian cysts ,anemia or low iron, diabetes, low caffeine,lack of sun protection have been associated. Spironolactone, minoxidil ( be careful not on face) ,cyproterone acetate  have been shown ot have some benefit.  Follow up with a dermatologist.

Neal barnard's book foods that fight pain. He describes a plant-based, anti-inflammatory diet that will improve healing and decrease inflammation. Many of my patients have benefitted and no longer need medications.

how is the dr oz diet?

: It is a good diet which you can do on your own as well. What you would have to eat is low dairy fat, low-fat animal protein, fish, plenty of fiber with fruits, vegetables and whole grains. I typically recommend also low gluten in a diet. Basically, it is just eating healthy, buying fresh food and not processed or packaged food and always low fat with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables.
