Atypical Migraines: Atypical migraines lack features of classic migraines including aura, prodrome, maternal lineage history of migraines and clear triggers but still present with hemicranial headaches of long duration with nausea, sensitivity to light and sound. Try melatonin to promote sleep and reduce anxiety, stay hydrated, meditate to reduce stress impacts, avoid computer blue light exposure and keep a diary!

Combat them?: If you know you have migraines, you must know about the wide variety of meds to treat them. As a practical matter, the stepped-care approach is best: prophylactic meds for >1 H/A/week; 1st-line abortive meds for H/A attacks & 2nd-line or "rescue" meds if necessary. Few migraineurs get by with just 1 magic-bullet pill or shot or patch.
