Sure: Depends on the cause. Swollen nodes caused by infection or inflammation would be expected to go back to normal whereas those caused by cancer  normally keep on growing (there are exceptions even to this, though).  Moral of the story: unexplained enlargement of nodes should be evaluated by your doc. Best to you.

Where: Dependent on where the gland swelling is.

But for this to be present for 3 months is not a normal occurrence

I would suggest seeing your DR and getting a full exam to find the etiology of the swelling.

That they work: Lymph nodes are little serum strainers that specialize in removing debris from the clear body serum. They enlarge when they are active and shrink back to resting size when quiet,Bug bites, viruses, regional infection, skin rashes are part of what triggers these to grow and shrink over weeks/months. Detection is easier over the head where they are not buried in muscle or fat.

It is not uncommon for a healthy person to have lymph node swelling that comes and goes since they protect the body from infection and other illnesses. However, anxiety or unecessary worry may be even more of a problem. Anxiety attacks can stop people in their tracks and can affect a person's abilty to function normally. Anxiet can also lead to illness including increasing infection rate

i've had a weak tickly dry cough since september 22. i also have mildly painful swollen neck and collarbone lymph nodes that come and go as well as bouts of fatigue. i tested negative for covid/flu/mono, no fever, and clear cxray. what can it be? 20m?

: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. One item to consider is infectious mononucleosis and it can be diagnosed with a blood test. It would be prudent to see a doctor, preferably an ENT doctor. Wish you good health!

Considering...: Considering your genetic origin......a lymph node biopsy will be best advise. It can be bacterial, Mycobacterial, Lymphoma.......If using stick deodorant.....switch to liquid or spray. Take a course of Bactrim (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) DS. Iron your undergarments...

i was diagnosed with reflux 2 and a half years ago, and i haven't been taking care of it back then, but recently i've been having chest pain that comes and go and i am hoarse a little, and my lymph nodes have swollen they come and go, is it barrett's?

: The symptoms of hoarseness and chest pain and your history suggest recurrence of GERD is one probable cause. If you develop increase in pain, difficulty breathing, fever or cough, infection should be evaluated. Please discuss treatment with a PPI with your physician.

No!: Vitamin D deficiency is uncommon and it has no specific symptoms in most cases.....may be bone pains can be one such manifestation min some cases.

Will not need teatme: Malignant lymph nodes will not go away on there own , need treatment for both primary ( lymphomas ) or metastatic tumors.  Due to recent advances in chemotherapy will have excellent results.Make sure that person will go to the doctor.
