The symptoms of hoarseness and chest pain and your history suggest recurrence of GERD is one probable cause. If you develop increase in pain, difficulty breathing, fever or cough, infection should be evaluated. Please discuss treatment with a PPI with your physician.

Not likely at your age. I would elevate head of bed 4-8 inches as gravity never sleeps ant this may help a lot. Especially if you have water brash at night. That is if your acid stomach contents tend to come up in your moth at night. It it bothers you enough you will take care of it. Or you may develop Barrett's. Listen to your body!
