Anemia of low iron: The blood results you describe would go along with iron deficiency anemia and in a person of your age likely due to not enough iron intake to make back the red cells you lose during your period. You do not give the actual numbers or the reason you had the testing. Taking iron pills and eating deep green veggies would be what is needed. Ask your MD if iron deficiency is the cause. Maybe: Reference ranges are set so that a few percent of healthies fall outside. However, an anemia (low Hgb) is ALWAYS worth investigating. Your physician will guide you here. Don't be concerned with a slightly low absolute monocyte count.

recently had 2 tranfusions due to low hgb (below 7) now a momth ater i had blood test done that states my hgb is now 16.3 ! is that possible? i have not plied myself with tons of iron rich foods, but do take a fermented iron pill daily?

: What was the cause of the anemia in the first place?  Not due to too much iron.  I would discuss with Dr and ask if it should be repeated.

: These hemoglobin and hematocrit numbers are entirely normal. Even if these numbers are very slightly below the numbers given by this particular lab, I see nothing to be concerned about and there is no need for further evaluation. Discuss with your doctor if you remain concerned.

Context: Will be needed for a meaningful answer. You have mild anemia, if any, anemia and LDH increase is nonspecific. Best would be to address with ordering physician and see if a referral to a hematologist may clarify findings. By context I mean history that prompted the exam, physical exam, meds taken, etc. Hope it helps.

Needs pcp evaluation: you need some answers. He should be evaluated by a PCP.  Who ordered these tests?  the results should have been explained.  If his HGB is abnormally low, he needs an anemia workup. Is he losing blood in the stool?  What is his TIBC, serum iron, and Ferritin?

: Anemia means low red blood cell numbers and related results like hematocrit and hemoglobin, and those results are normal. Therefore, by definition, you do not have anemia. Possibly your iron levels are a bit low, the most common cause of anemia in women.  B12 deficiency is unlikely, but these results don't directly measure B12 or its main effects on blood counts. Discuss with your doctor.

Yes: Each test has its own utility and measures different mechanism of abnormal glucose metabolism.  I would also add a fasting Insulin level and a GGT level into the panel for optimal understanding of what is really going on with the sugar in your body.

Diabetes management: Hb A1c levels reflect average blood glucose concentration over the past 3-4 months and are a monitor of the quality of glucose control in the particular patient.
