How are hgb a1c test results used by physicians?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Diabetes management: Hb A1c levels reflect average blood glucose concentration over the past 3-4 months and are a monitor of the quality of glucose control in the particular patient. The general aim is to keep A1c levels below 7. More recently, some doctors are using A1c levels to diagnose pre-diabetes and diabetes.
