Pancreatic Cancer: They would be high. Cancer implies growth of excess or abnormal tissue. This would lead to more enzymes than less.

Reference range: These ranges are set so that a few percent of healthies arbitrarily fall outside. A VERY low amylase might warn of a person who's lost their pancreas, but if this had happened, you'd know. Actually, labs are meaningless apart form patient histories and physical exams, and a high amylase is usually not a problem if you feel well.

Nondiagnostic: I don't believe that it's diagnostic of pancreatic cancer in the absence of other supporting findings. Your gastroenterologist is best qualified to advise you,however.

Lab values: A low amylase has no clinical significance. Reasons for a low A/G ratio include hypoalbuminemia and hypergammaglobulinemia. But the lesion needs follow up, first with MRCP and then endoscopic ultrasound with possible fine needle aspiration.

Means nothing: Reference ranges are set so that several percent of healthies fall outside on either end. Unless you're obviously sick with bad maldigestion, I would make nothing of this

Textbooks: This question, to answer, would require a full text book. But, there are sites and books to read if you want to know.  In my office when labs are abnormal I have a 30 minute session to go over the basics for the problem.

To give you any advice a doctor would need the full cholesterol and metabolic panels. Not just the diagnosis. They would need your medication list and medical history.

Nonspecific : The symptoms you describe are too nonspecific. Amylase and lipase levels rarely correlate with pancreatic cancer. You're very young to have pancreatic cancer. Is there a family history or other reason you are concerned?
In general, however, persistent pain warrants further investigation.
