Textbooks: This question, to answer, would require a full text book. But, there are sites and books to read if you want to know. In my office when labs are abnormal I have a 30 minute session to go over the basics for the problem. To give you any advice a doctor would need the full cholesterol and metabolic panels. Not just the diagnosis. They would need your medication list and medical history.
