how far in advance of a big party should i schedule my juvederm session? i want to look great, and i don't want to have any residual bruising or swelling. what's a safe time frame to shoot for?

Three : Three weeks is ok .... In rare cases you may still need a dab of "cover up" if you bruised excessively....

Ask surgeon: Swelling can take several days to go down. Ice may help. A check up with the surgeon who injected can direct care in the best way. Nobody could give an accurate answer without seeing you in person.

got juvederm in my tear troughs with major swelling afterwards. the doc said it would reduce significantly within an hour but it hasn't. what to do?

Recheck with doctor: There are significant blood vessels  in the area of the tear trough n this may be a bruise, you did not mention the color of the swelling, otherwise the swelling may be the juvaderm, if the swelling is excessive material it can be diminished with massage or injecting a dissolving agent, see you doctor if does not resolve.

Juvederm: Some patients experience some swelling after injections with hyaluronic acid. It usually lasts a short while. Massaging is not a great idea because you can move the product.

It : It depends on how much juvederm is injected. If you have a conservative enhancement, the swelling should be subtle but you may have some bruising.

Several days: Juvederm is a filler and does cause swelling after injection.  Usually it should be back to normal (although the filler area looks fuller and thus "swollen") after 3-4 days.

Might be: Juvederm usually doesn't last that long but you may have had an inflammatory reaction leading to scarring. You should contact whoever injected it for an evaluation or consult with a doctor who has a lot of experience with injecting fillers.

Injections Bruise: All injections bruise.  So fillers such as juvederm can occasionally cause out of control bruising.  Injections near the orbit are more likely to bruise.  Deep blood vessels can be injured with the needles and cause delayed bruising.
Ice early can help.
After a few days a concealer is ok, but it will take time to go away.  The colors will continue to change as it improves.
