why is it that i get frequent jaw pain?

Please elaborate: Is the pain in the joint (TMJ) or in the actual body of the jaw? Many conditions can cause this problem, including grinding your teeth, clenching, an abscess, an impacted tooth, etc. Can't diagnose correctly over the internet... You need to make an appointment with a local dentist.

TMJ: Tmj or temporomandibular joint pain can  cause jaw pain, clicking, or locking of the   jaw. It can cause a sense of fullness in the ears, ringing in the ears, and generalized dizziness or being off kilter.  Treatment of TMJ includes heat to area, soft diet, antiinflammatories  like ibuprofen,  sometimes a muscle relaxant, and a night guard for the teeth..

Dental Trauma: It is always best to see a dentist for any trauma to the head, especially when the teeth or jaw are effected. Regardless of the degree of pain, swelling, soreness, there are injuries to structures that patients are not always aware of. There are also possible future problems related to the injury that patient need to be made aware of. Please see a dentist asap to be checked out.

Do you mean....: Is it possible to get jaw pain from wearing braces? Yes, to some extent. If that's the case, speak to your dentist to see if the pain is related to the braces or if it's something else.

: Sounds like Bells Palsy - this is a viral infection  that can leave your face that way permanently, but with physical and occupational therapy can improve over time. No one is certain why it occurs, but it may be caused by herpes simplex, a virus that causes cold sores, which can be treated with Acyclovir or Valcyclovir.

See specialists: See the Prosthodontist, Oral Surgeon, and the Dentist who treats TMD (TMJ) as their focus . Going on too long. If these specialists cannot help you ,then they will refer you appropriately. Best of luck.

Rule out TMJ: Consult with your dentist to rule out any TMJ involvement.  The solution may be as simple as the fabrication of a night guard.

Hard to tell: It could be many things...  Tooth ache, muscle pain... A tumor...  I would suggest seeing a orofacial or craniofacial pain specialist.

: If you just opened it too wide but there was no trauma, it should heal by itself in a day or two. You may take acetaminophen for pain, no more than 4g/day, no alcohol.
For healthy diet: http://www.choosemyplate.gov/., exercise 30 minutes/day, drink enough water daily so your urine is mostly colorless, have safe sex, no tobacco alcohol weed or street drugs. 
Get HPV and Covid vaccines.

i clench and grind my teeth constantly and i started to get jaw pain could this be the cause?

: Bruxism can eventuate in jaw pain (TMJ syndrome) but pain in jaw muscles may occur initially.  See your dentist and get  this handled before joint dysfunction becomes chronic.
