If you just opened it too wide but there was no trauma, it should heal by itself in a day or two. You may take acetaminophen for pain, no more than 4g/day, no alcohol. For healthy diet: http://www.choosemyplate.gov/., exercise 30 minutes/day, drink enough water daily so your urine is mostly colorless, have safe sex, no tobacco alcohol weed or street drugs. Get HPV and Covid vaccines.

OPENING TOO WIDE OR A BIG YAWN OF JAW CAN CAUSE PAIN DUE TO STRAIN OF MASSETER MUSCLE OF JAW. APPLY HOT COMPRESS TO CHEEK AREA AT LEAST TWICE A DAY. PAIN SHOULD SUBSIDE IN A FEW DAYS.

If this nis a 1 time experience, should self heal in a few days. Warm compresses 2x/day, on 10 minutes, off 10 minutes, should help. Please do not "test" the joint by opening wide. If this is a recurring problem, see your Dentist for TMJ evaluation.
