Unfortunately : Unfortunately this is a very common occurrence.  Typically the q-tip only scratches the ear canal but rarely, it can injure the ear drum (tympanic membrane) itself.  If your pain gradually improves with no other symptoms, you can just observe your condition.  If you develop any hearing change, fever, redness, or other signs of infection then you must seek medical evaluation.  In the future, only use the q-tips on the outer portion of your ear.

The : The bleeding is probably from having scratched the skin in the ear canal.  This will heal with time.  I doubt you punctured your ear drum since you state you can hear fine.  Be careful with q-tip use in the future.  Best wishes.

the inside of my ear has been bleeding (no pain) for about 3 hours after accidentally going to far in with a q-tip.what should i do?

Bleeding ear: Leave the ear alone. DO NOT PUT HEAT TO THE EAR.
Ask your doctor about taking an antihistamine such as Benadryl (diphenhydramine) (makes you sleepy) or Zyrtec.  Purpose is to reduce the swelling and keep you from digging in your ear. In a few days there may be some blood crusts. Try baby oil 3 drops twice a day to remove this.
If pain iworse, need to see doctor before the ear closes up - can be very painful

i put a q-tip a little far in my ear and i have tubes and it's bleeding just a little. should i just leave it alone?

Yes: Leave it alone. The bleeding may have blocked the opening of the tube. Then the tube would not work. You may want to see your ENT doc to make sure the tube is patent.

Doctor: Given the bleeding, you really need to have a medical professional look into the ear with the appropriate equipment. You could have a perforated ear drum, which can create the sensations you're describing. It's actually best not to put anything in your ear, as it's very easy to tear your eardrum on accident!

Ear symptoms.:  Pressure may have built up in your middle ear causing your tympanic membrane to ruputue with bleeding.  This may be related to an infection. Your medical provider could verify if that was what occurred.

Ear trauma: You may have punctured your tympanic membrane. You should see your primary care physician today and if it is confirmed you will probably be referred to an ENT specialist for further evaluation.

See below: Considering that this occured after the sinsus rinse, you may want to see your doctor.  You may need to go on antibiotic or other medications.

i accidentally poked my ear with a q-tip and lost all hearing from my left ear, should i be concerned if it didn't bleed?

Accepted Answer

If it didn't hurt : then you probably did not do any damage to the ear drum or ear canal.  You may have pushed wax or other debris deep into the canal and clogged the canal completely... giving you that hollow or muffled sound.  You can try to use some ear wax removal drops that can be bought over the counter but if that doesn't work soon you will have to ask your doctor to wash or aspirate it clear.
