If it didn't hurt : then you probably did not do any damage to the ear drum or ear canal. You may have pushed wax or other debris deep into the canal and clogged the canal completely... giving you that hollow or muffled sound. You can try to use some ear wax removal drops that can be bought over the counter but if that doesn't work soon you will have to ask your doctor to wash or aspirate it clear.

Depends: If it didnt hurt or bleed when you poked q tip then chances of damaging ear drum are less. More likely explanation for loss of hearing is wax being pushed against the ear drum. Ear examination would confirm this.
