It is a bit : Difficult to understand precisely what you are saying because there are many bones between the ankle and the big toe.....there is a talus bone, navicular, cuneiform metatarsal bone along the most medial aspect of the foot. What is meant by a "knot"? Perhaps a ganglion? A midfoot exostosis?

Shocking.: Sounds like a neuralgia type problem. The nerve on the top of the foot has been damaged or irritated and is sending impulses down the nerve route when stimulated. You need to consider just what may have irritated the nerve. Could be something as simple as an ill-fitting shoe. If the condition does not improve, a visit to the doctor may be helpful. Heat/cold and topical patches can be helpful.

U HAVE SCRATCHED OFF: ..the dermal layer, &amp; have a full thickness loss over the vein. elevate, ice, mild pressure &amp; it will stop bleeding and heal. use an antibiotic cream, was often with soap and H2O. next time have some OTC steroid cream handy, &amp; apply it 2 an area U start 2 scratch, &amp; hands off.

Venous reflux: Superficial venous insufficiency or reflux means blood is not flowing 'up' properly so it can sit in your feet, ankle and legs causing them to swell or the veins to appear large. Its possible: If the foot injury is on the same side as the phlebitis, it is possible. In the area of treatment, you still need an anticoagulant (aspirin, Heparin shots, coumadin) for the phlebitis and compression. Usually phlebitis resolves with treatment in 3 to 6 months. Sometimes an ultrasound helps.
