when i eat 1-minute oatmeal + 1% milk + fruit for breakfast i'm hungry all day. i get tired of eggs. what can i eat for breakfast that is filling?

Add some fat: It may or may not sound strange to you, but some people like to put peanut butter (or almond butter) in oatmeal. Fat prolongs the stomach's emptying time, slowing digestion of the oatmeal. Adding some extra fiber such as oat bran may help slow absorption also. Animal fat foods such as bacon or sausage, although not a good staple, are ok at times if you''re not vegan.

Extremely unlikely.: Oatmeal is usually is given to people with diarrhea.  You must be sure that this is the cause. Have you always had oatmeal in the am to cause the diarrhea. You need to make sure of what you are eating and make a food diary. Things with high fructose or sucrose can cause diarrhea. If you have trouble to figure it out, call the doc and have he or her help you. You have not mentioned blood?

i eat oatmeal in the morning and noticed that my stool often is grey now.   i tend to correlate that to the oats, but im wondering about the liver?

It's the oatmeal: Are you the one who has been posting so many questions about white stools and liver disease? Light colored (white, gray, etc) would never be the only symptom; anyone with this problem due to the liver would be extremely ill, e.g. jaundiced (yellow appearing), nauseated, vomiting, probably swollen legs, and more. Stop paying so much attention to your stool!

: Eggs are a good source of protein, vitamin A and many other nutrients. Unless you suffer from high cholesterol, eating 2 eggs daily with oatmeal is fine. Make sure you are eating some vegetables and fruits at some point in the day to get your daily dose of fiber and other vitamins/minerals.

Burning discomfort: Burning discomfort in the upper abdomen is not characteristic of gas buildup but is consistent with gastritis(inflammation of the stomach lining) or peptic ulcer. Avoid alcohol, caffeine, nicotine, spicey and greasy foods, aspirin, anti-inflammatory medications like ibuprofen and naproxen. Take omeprazole or pepcid for 7-10 days. If not improved see a gastroenterologist for evaluation and testing.

Yes: Traditionally prepared oatmeal is very healthy food, not instant oatmeal. Take 10 to 15 min to prepare it, add slices of banana, blueberries & strawberries. Organic honey, a teaspoon of organic coconut oil with ground cinnamon can be added & it will make a perfect breakfast together with a cup of black coffee or tea without sugar. Yummy yummy!

A "serving": is usually meant to be a bowl for cereals of which oatmeal is a very popular item. There is some evidence that oatmeal may reduce the total cholesterol including the LDL (heart affecting)
