i have iga nephropathy and i want to lose weight. is ok for me to drink shakeology?

Talk to renal doc: While i'm not specifically familiar with shakeology, many of those preparations contain quite high levels of proteins.  This may be quite hard for your kidneys to handle if you have renal problems.  It is going to make a difference how much renal function you have left, etc.  Also, some of these products have higher levels of potassium, so that, too, may be tough on you. Share info with renal doc.

See details: The major question is why was this first testing ordered in the first place? The best answers you can receive is from the doctor who ordered the test. There are several issues that may cause a monoclonal spike with the most serious ones being multiple myeloma or Waldenstroms macroglobulinemia. You may want to consult a hematologist.

No: Abnormal FLC ratio is not diagnostic of any disease. More than 50% of the people with increased levels of gamma globulins have abnormal FLC ratio without a disorder of the plasma cells.

my daughter age 3y10m her weight is 8 kg and her test result of anti transglutaminase-iga = 2.45 u/ml and anti transglutaminase-igg  =31.79 u/ml             is she normal or not??

Should see your doc.: The tTG-IgA is in normal range, but IgG is elevated. This likely represents POSITIVE result SUGGESTING Celiac disease. However, a biopsy is needed to confirm the diagnosis. Because IgA is normal while IgG is high, this suggests possible IgA deficiency, which is more common in people with Celiac Disease. Either way, you should talk to your doc about the results as she may need further tests.

Useless test: K/L ratio is not a useful test. About one third of patients without monoclonal immunoglboulin have an abnormal ratio, usually with kappa excess. At your age you are unlikely to have myeloma.

Non Specific Finding: Hey so you did all the right things, looking for autoimmune disorders, liver disease and Plasma cell issues. When we see high levels of IGA and all work up is negative we consider it non specific and likely you have had this for many years. Important though is to keep track of it and monitor yourself for symptoms just in case another workup is needed.

Too complex here: Your question is too complex to answer in a few sentences with little information you provide. When there is hypogammaglobulinemia, you should see a well trained immunologist. It could be primary immunodeficiency or it could be secondary due to protein loss in urine since you mention you have kidney disease. Protein losing nephropathy can cause igg loss too.

However,I'm sure you're being evaluated by a hematologist for the anemia, petechiae,lymphadenopathy &amp; discomfort in the area where your spleen is located. More testing is needed. The hematologist is best to continue the workup&amp; advise you.
