CRT: Cardiac re synchronization  therapy is a pacemaker that corrects the loss of synchronization of both ventricles in CHF patients with marked intraventricular conduction delay. Because it is used in patients with low ef we often use it with defibrillator capability. Icd is a defibrillator device generally single chamber for patients who just need that function.

ICD: An icd will shock a life threatening arrhythmia but doesn't guarantee you won't die. If you die for another reason than an arrhythmia, the icd won't do anything constructive.

PCD: don't know what you mean by a PCD, ICD is in our terminology implantable cardiac defibrillator. Looking up PCD can't find it in any medical compendium. When people use abbreviations they may think they are speaking our 'language' but don't really have the vocabulary. It's always better to write out the words to try and communicate more clearly

ICD/AED: If a patient had an icd and it was working appropriately, the patient would have been shocked by the device if the program parameters were met. If the icd were not functioning appropriately and was shocked with an AED appropriately, it is unlikely any untoward effects would result. After such an event, the icd would need to be checked out however, to verify its status.
