Can you still die with an icd?

ICD: An icd will shock a life threatening arrhythmia but doesn't guarantee you won't die. If you die for another reason than an arrhythmia, the icd won't do anything constructive.

Yes, absolutely: An ICD will treat a lethal heart rhythm, allowing patients to go on living. In the event that there are other issues such as respiratory failure, severe stroke or other organ failure to name a few, the ICD will not prevent death
