how long should i have swollen gums after deep cleaning?

Not long: If you're following good dental hygine routine, bleeding should reduce then stop over a few wks or less. Do you floss?  Often times when we don't floss regularly or brush thoroughly some tissues don't get in contact with either floss or toothbrush, & become inflamed/irritated and gum disease can develop.  A water pik might help too.  Be sure to see your dentist regularly, esp if it doesn't clear.

i just had deep cleaning because gum was swollen for years. will deep cleaning help stop halitosis?

It can...: But it depends on the cause of the halitosis. Periodontal pocketing, cavities, and acid reflux all contribute to your halitosis. If your gums were swollen for years, you may also require more aggressive treatment to treat your periodontitis. Speak to your dentist.

i recently have been noticing my gums receding. gums are swollen but not red. i have a small tiny decay in one gap. i have 2 tooth with abit of root exposed. no tartars except on a few tooth. do i need deep cleaning? or is there another cleaning way?

: You should follow your dentist's recommendation. If you have calculus accretions and have not had a professional dental cleaning for a few years, you need  a deep cleaning. At your age you should not have receding gums.

No: Call your dentist, explain what you feel and ask to be seen for a post operative evaluation.

Wrong people: You're talking to the wrong people.  You should be calling your Dentist about this.  You may have a dental or periodontal infection, present before the cleaning, but exacerbated by the tissue manipulation.  Call your Dentist.

Possible infection: May be an infection under the gums. Floss area well and if it doesn't clear up see your dentist.

Check with dentist: Check with your dentist or periodontist, most likely the hole you feel was the buildup of calculus that was removed.  Check with your dentist to make sure and rule out any decay.

Yes: With or without gum disease bleaching strips can be irritating.  Please review this wit your Dentist.
