Many issues: Going on here.  Using Ritalin (methylphenidate) as an appetite suppressant can get you into big trouble with addiction rebound fatigue, ; hypoglycemia. It also causes insomnia. Get mthfr 677 ; 1298 genotype testing. Treatment can help you with your weight loss goals, make your anti-depressant work better, decrease anxiety and help sleep. Also gives energy during the day that is natural instead of not real.

my son has been moved over from ritalin to nuecon increasing his dosage from 20mg to 27mg long acting. since we started with this medication he suddenly started getting epilepsy fits. he never had it. he was diagnosed at the age of 4 with petite mal ?

Not unusual : Any of the psycho-stimulants like Ritalin, which is essentially the same as Nuecon (different long acting form) lower the seizure threshold. This permits them to appear when thy would not. You may need to work with his docs to find a better option.

actually i am now on la ritalin and its worse than short acting. no improvement after a month. i've had general and social anxiety since i was 12 (it comes and goes) and no anxiety, depression medication nor behavioral therapy ever helped.

Learning disorder? : The most common form of add is one that combines inattention, LD and anxiety in one package. Since you have a history of anxiety disorder, & apparently add, then you most likely have the third as well. Check with your doctor about having that investigated.  Also be sure you don't use caffeine chocolate or energy drinks as they will worsen anxiety symptoms & make add meds less effective.

Impractical: If you are ready to drink strong coffee continuously through the day and run to pee every hour or two you can achieve some of the stimulant effect of ritalin (methylphenidate).Each person has a different effect to any level of intake.

Could vary.: It is recommended to take this 30 minutes prior to a meal.  Food could change the bio-availability.  The medication is usually working in 30 minutes after taking the pill.  I would take it as it is supposed to be taken unless cleared by your prescribing doctor.

No: They aren't the same and they work differently....and Ritalin (methylphenidate) is an amphetamine compound.  Several things I suggest..first..see if they will cover Provigil instead.  Its very similar and sometimes they'll do that since its a little cheaper.  Secondly..go to Nuvigil.com.  They have patient assistance and coupons there.  Good luck.

i usually take sandoz ritalin, but pharmacy only had corepharma, does the corepharma work at all? i feel no benefit on this corepharma ritilian.

Dispensing errors po: ssible.  Sometimes the pharmacist, in error, dispenses the incorrect medicine.  In theory, the generic version of the medicine is supposed to have the same bioavailabilibility as the brand name.  The fact that that you don't feel anything argues that you probably have gotten the wrong drug or the wrong dose.  Go back to the same store with the medicine in the bottle that you got there.
